Full Moon Practice - strengthening our Rhythm.

Reverence for life is foundational to our sense of being in the rhythm of life.

A winding river flows through a dark landscape at dusk, its surface reflecting faint light beneath a heavy, clouded sky.

Reverence nourishes our deep spiritual wellbeing — centring us in the rhythm of life. It is life affirming — a feeling and expression of deep respect, love and awe. An awareness that all of life is holy, inviting us to see beyond what is immediately visible. Reverence lives in the moments when our heart is open and we give thanks. It lives in the way we greet the morning light, how we speak to the land we walk on, and how we listen — not only to words, but to the spirit behind them. How we commune.

In the ways of Wild Wisdom, reverence is a vital compass. It orients us to a world that is alive, responsive. In this world, every tree has a story. Every storm has a message. Every dream carries a seed of truth. Through reverence we commune with these subtleties and energies.

When we live inside the rhythm of life, we are grounded. We have reference points. We know how to settle back into our own natural rhythm. This is the foundation we need for our wellbeing. Reverence is the touchstone for our rhythm.

Wayfinding is about how we move in rhythm with life — staying in relationship with where we are, responding in the moment, trusting our perception over plans.

As wayfinders, we navigate through deep relationship with land, sea and sky, following the signs and magic of life — inhabiting the rhythm of life through perception, trust and connection. Reverence is the needle of our compass.

Being devoted to living through our own rhythm is how we steady ourselves, especially on shaky ground.

2026 is a threshold year where a new rhythm is emerging.

Our rhythm of life is the relationship between our inner awareness and the unfolding of life itself.

Storytelling is a powerful way to stay connected to our own flow and to settle us into our natural rhythm. Stories are part of our rhythm. How we remember and pass on our experiences and wisdom. Our love. This is foundational to the development of our own unique medicine.

Honouring the Rhythm of Our Life Through Memory and Storytelling

Part of our practice this lunar month is to remember a story of your time well spent. We are weaving this into our overall practice. For the full moon, let’s reflect on stories where you have crossed a threshold. Thresholds can be powerful moments of reverence and they can be chaotic, uninvited, or unexpected moments brought about by sudden change, catastrophe or an unexpected invitation.

Dark storm clouds hang low over a vast, turbulent ocean, with powerful waves breaking across the surface and faint light glowing on the distant horizon.

A Threshold Memory — Finding My Rhythm

As I was working on this practice I immediately thought of when we moved to Australia. I was five years old.

The journey itself was a threshold — nearly four weeks at sea. Life lived on a ship. Wide horizons. Sunsets and sunrises over the water. Days shaped by the rhythm of the ocean. I was captivated by every moment.

Our first stop was Naples, Italy. I’d never seen anything like that place! Crowds of people in the streets, cafes brimming with people, mountains towering in the background! Then we travelled along the top of Africa, through the Suez Canal, stopping in places filled with vibrant colour, movement, and trade. From there, Yemen and then Colombo — during the monsoon! I still vividly remember stepping from the ship onto a narrow plank, rising and falling with the wild rhythm of the sea, to board a tiny overcrowded ferry in Colombo harbour. The air was thick with humidity. When I stepped off the ferry onto the earth it felt like home — strangely familiar — yet so different to where I’d come from. This was a place where the veils are thin.

When we finally arrived in Melbourne, everything was so different to where we’d begun the long journey — from an old home to a new one.

The light.

The warmth.

Palm trees lining the streets.

The sharp scent of eucalyptus and pink peppercorn.

I was in a state of natural reverence — drinking it all in. I struggled at school, newly arrived with a different accent, an outsider. But something else was happening within me.

Presence.

It became part of my rhythm.

Recognising the rhythm of your life — through knowing your stories and the thresholds that shape you — teaches trust. Trust in the journey itself.

What struck me most — even at that age — was the richness of difference. Multicultural life is an understatement. Through all my senses I encountered a myriad of colour, voices, accents, and daily rituals. Open-fronted greengrocers with shopkeepers calling out their wares. The scent and abundance of fresh food — onions piled high, crates of mangoes and avocados, oranges and red grapes, boxes of dates, platters of butter and cheese. My senses had never known anything like it.

I felt a sense of freedom — though I didn’t yet have words for it.

Alongside it came an early, embodied knowing that diversity grows out of unity — that difference is not separation, but expression.

That current still moves through my life now. It shapes how I listen, how I walk the land, and how I hold space. How I remain in relationship with both the seen and unseen forces of life.

Presence is the current within my rhythm that I continue to strengthen under this Full Moon.

THE PRACTICE

Navigating our Life though Rhythm, Embracing Flow.

This practice is an invitation to orient by rhythm — to sense where you are and to trust your inner guidance.

Strengthening Your Rhythm

  1. Begin by centring yourself

Step out under the moonlight, or sit by the window. If you are inside you might like to light a candle and place something from nature beside it — a stone, a shell, a leaf, a bowl of water.

Take a few slow breaths to clear your mind. Be present to the moonlight or candle light for a few minutes as you focus on your breath.

  1. Remembering a Threshold

Reflect on threshold moments you’ve had and choose one - the one that feels strongest.

A moment when something shifted

and you didn’t know what would happen next.

It may have been chosen or uninvited,

quiet or chaotic, expansive or frightening.

Let the memory be present — but don’t go into it.

Where were you before this experience?

What did you step into without certainty?

What did you leave behind?

Stay with how you feel and notice how this memory lives in your body now.

  1. Sensing the Current It Brought

Every threshold adds something to our rhythm.

Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.

Ask quietly:

What did this moment give me?

Trust how and what you receive.

  1. Devotion — Name the current that continues to support your life.

Speak it aloud if you can.

For example:

I know how to stay grounded.

I know how to listen more deeply.

I know how to move forward even when things are uncertain.

This is the current within your rhythm that you are strengthening through this practice.

Choose an object that represents it

and place it on your altar or somewhere you will see it.

Over the days of the full moon and as we move into the creative waning gibbous moon, tend this current with attention —

through gratitude, presence, or a simple daily pause.

  1. Closing — In Rhythm With Life

Offer your story to the night. Honour it as part of your unfolding journey of life.

You might like to say this mantra at the end, or write it out and say it often throughout this time:

I honour the pathway that led me here

I am in rhythm with my dreams and desires.

Let the candle burn a little longer and enjoy a sense of spaciousness as you deepen into a sense of expanded awareness — of your rhythm of life.

Much love

As a special gift, I’d love to welcome you as my guest to our next Wild Membership call — a shared gathering normally held for members.

You’ll receive a personal invitation to join us and experience the practice in community.
