Welcome to the Wild Wisdom Monthly Practice

Each full moon you will receive this practice to help you stay in rhythm with the lunar cycle and our New Moon theme.

Our practice is: Entering the Unknown

Our mantra is: All Is Well

Dark forest pathway at night, fading into mist, with subtle silver shimmer along the grasses and a faint glow suggesting a mysterious threshold ahead.

This month we are approaching each day as a small pilgrimage — a practice of trust and faith in the pathway unfolding before us.

Part of undertaking a pilgrimage is to follow the signs and synchronicities.

We are in rapidly changing times. Times that are unsteadying and challenging.

When we follow the signs and trust our inner guidance we become more centred and aligned with our dreams.

Following the magical signs and paying attention to, and acting on synchronicities, are foundational practices of Wild Wisdom. Some of these signs are guide posts and some of them hold a deeper presence in our life. These are what I call milestones.

A pivotal, or threshold, moment where something appears that is life changing.

Once received, milestones become part of your inner compass. The feeling they awaken becomes embodied knowing — shaping your instincts and guiding your sense of direction.

Moody coastal landscape at dusk, viewed from a cliff, with rolling waves, rising white sea mist, and a soft golden-pink glow touching the horizon and water.

Recently I stood on the cliffs across from where I live, looking out over the Southern Ocean. The surf was rolling in perfect sets. There was a white sea mist rising off the water and the light was golden pink. It gave me a deep, expansive feeling. One I am so familiar with and yet never get used to. As I reflected on the beauty of this, I was transported back to the first time I ever saw this ocean. It was late in the day — a moment just like this.

I felt very emotional. I remembered looking out over the ocean — just as I always do now. I remember the sense I had of being at home. And how it became my dream to live with this ocean. The Southern Ocean.

I reflected on my childhood experiences of the beach and the ocean and how they always evoked a feeling of belonging. Of going somewhere. Of being my true self.

Looking back I can see how there were earlier magical signs that were pointing the way.

My Mother took me to Cornwall early in the year that we moved to Australia. The visceral experience of the smell of the salt, the rock pools and seaweed, the blue of the ocean and feeling of the sand still, to this day, evokes a deep rooted experience of power and belonging.

Later that year we sailed the high seas to reach Australia, with all the ports along the way — it was a pilgrimage. The shimmering water, the magic that unfolded at every moment — from flying fish to golden sunsets — all natural magic that I embodied and has stayed with me, informing something deep in my own mystery.

This full moon and the rest of this cycle is about getting in touch with an early milestone that has guided you — whether consciously or unconsciously.

The pathway before us is uncertain, but if we approach it as an adventure, or a pilgrimage, it leads us into mystery, into growth, and into relationship with the unseen forces that accompany us — felt through devotion, through dreams, and through the stories we carry.

THE PRACTICE

Our practice over this full moon period is to take time and reflect on a milestone that has given shape to your life experience.

That moment when I first saw the Southern Ocean gave me a deep inner sense of direction. It became my dream to live with this ocean. And now, here I am, living at my favourite beach.

This Full Moon invites you to remember your own milestone — the moment that shaped your dreaming in real time. The moment that still lives in your body. The one that has quietly been guiding you into the unknown.

Light a candle or a lantern. Recall a threshold moment. A magical sign. A crossing that marked change.

Trust the first one that arises.

It is your inner lantern for this time.

Reflect for a few moments.

Place your hands on your heart centre and let the memory settle in your body.

Focus on the feelings. Notice the qualities of this milestone.

Now place your hands in front of your mouth and whisper those feelings and dreams into your hands. Then bring your hands back to your heart centre. The hands do the work of the heart in the world.

Sit with these feelings and qualities. Notice how they are already integrated into your life and how they guide what you do.

Think about life as a pilgrimage and cultivating faith in uncertain times. Faith is not certainty — it is the courage to walk forward without seeing the whole path.

How does your milestone help anchor your faith, or your trust?

By remembering this story, this milestone you anchor yourself in remembering who you are in a heart centred way. A way of belonging.

At this time of year lanterns are carried as symbols of guidance. Our inner lantern, or light, is strengthened when we trust and follow the signs.

Over the next few days of the full moon and as the moon begins to wane, light a candle each morning and evening and speak your heart words as an affirmation.

Trust your inner guidance.

Shine your lantern into the world.

Much love
