Monthly Practice New Moon in Virgo

The Wild Wisdom monthly practices are sent out each new moon. They include instructions and actions for you to take throughout the lunar month to develop and deepen your spiritual pathway, and keep you grounded and spiritually invigorated. They also have a mantra, blessing or prayer to enhance your practice.

Our practice this month is Balance, Walking the Shoreline of Certainty and Uncertainty.

Our prayer is a Journey Prayer

I honour my deep emotions

I cherish my inner strength

And my intuition guides me

To rely on my path, my medicine, my way

I feel release in my heart, my spirit, my soul

And I am aligned

I embrace flow.

This is a favourite practice of mine and in keeping with this dynamic start to the new lunar month - the new moon solar eclipse in Virgo on the cusp of the equinox. It’s a time of thresholds and turning points. A time to welcome what we desire to have in our life and move through this month with intention, grace, and harmony.

True balance comes from creating a life based on your dreams and desires. Balance is not static, it is a flowing, shifting state as we navigate the interweaving of our inner and outer worlds. Trusting our inner guidance is essential.

Uncertainty is scary but it is also the stuff of adventure, self discovery.

The mystery. The dreaming. The unknown.

Certainty is a practice. How we navigate the known and unknown is the way we experience balance. Practicing certainty helps us to feel safe, or more sure footed. It is a way of navigating from our inner wisdom. This month our practice takes us into liminal places - where certainty and uncertainty meet.

When we walk the shoreline, or any thin place — where water meets land, where two streams meet, the edge of the forest, the changing light at sunset —  we are in the liminal space between the realms, the physical world and the Otherworld. These spaces are where we can receive deeply.

I walk the shoreline daily. The vast horizon, the sound of the surf, the shifting light on water — these are invitations into presence, wonder, and inspiration. To the healing medicine of beauty, the power of natural magic..

The Practice

Our practice this month invites you to explore liminal places and practices of certainty, following your inner guidance, embracing uncertainty and moving forward.

Daily Rituals

When we practice daily rituals we are practising certainty.

Be intentional about simple actions such as cooking, washing the dishes, stopping for a moment and taking long smooth deep breaths, brushing your teeth before bed. These simple rituals that we repeat regularly keep us grounded in the present.

Imagination and the stories in nature

Look for stories and magical signs in nature. In the patterns of the waves in the sand, the scattering of leaves on the ground. The trail of lizard prints in the dunes, the wisdom in the snake skin shed in the long grass. The way the stars move across the sky. These are part of the ongoing creation story of Earth and remind us that we are part of the web of life.

Such stories bring certainty, grounding you in the land where you live.

Locate a threshold place and seek fresh perspectives

Find a thin place nearby — a corner of your garden, under a favourite tree, where boundary fences meet. Beside a creek or nearby river or beach. Where you intuitively feel it. Bring a simple offering — a flower, a seed, a little milk and honey. Create a small altar or place your offering on the earth. Sit for a while. Contemplate the wisdom, the fresh perspective, this liminal place offers.

Words are actions that move our intention forward

Find words over the next few days or week that speak to your sense of way finding, or navigating, the threshold before you — dreams and desires that you are ready to live out in the world. Words that describe your deep feelings. Gather them to you like beautiful shells or stones on the beach, the forest floor. The pathway before you.

Say your words out loud

You don’t have to form them into a sentence - you might just have a string of words that feel right. You might have just one. You can chant them or form them into a poem or prayer. Say them at your threshold place, say them when you rise in the morning and when you lay down at night.

Words spoken with intention are keys that open doorways into new ways of being.

Let your heart lead the way

Practice listening to, and following, the voice of your heart — that quiet voice that whispers the next step to take. Unlike the mind, it doesn’t repeat itself; it speaks in the moment, with clarity. Cultivate your trust and willingness to act on your inner guidance.

We live between two worlds, the inner and the outer worlds. It is in the interweaving of these that we find balance on an deeper level.
