The Carlin, Mother Creation The Carlin is a nickname of the Cailleach – Mother Creation, Mother Earth. She emerges from the sea cave of creation (her own depths) and roams the land giving birth to the spirits and all life, creating the holy sites and sacred spaces, creating culture and language and both the law and the lore of the land. She declares her presence as the creator of life, "I am the Carlin."
